and discuss projects, share resources, print PDF course
Materials, get general machine shop class information and find
Jobs. The CNC / Machine Shop Class is
designed to teach Computer Numerical Control(CNC) in addition
to conventional machine tool operations.
Because of
the nature of this class, “hands-on” instruction is emphasized
over theory. Most students in the class learn from
this style. Lecture is secondary to the practical experience.
Project-based learning is also emphasized but optional. It is
important for the student to be able to combine all the skills
and theories learned into a comprehensive project. The element
of discovery is paramount as the students are pushed to solve
problems on their own by consulting manuals while the
instructor will only guide them to solutions. The students
also learn from the team work and competition involved in
